The first quote comes as a response by Spurs coach Gregg Popovich to when our Moron-In-Chief and national embarrassment was asked the question, “Why haven’t we heard anything from you about the soldiers who were killed in Niger, and what do you have to say about that?” Here is the video of Trump’s exchange with the reporter… Please watch as his uncontrollable narcissism takes hold, and he somehow manages to make the deaths of four American soldiers about 1) How hard it is for HIM, and 2) How much better he is than all the other presidents… Especially Obama.
Just in case you are the sort of person who doesn’t watch videos, here are a few highlights: “I’ve written them personal letters. They’ve been sent… Or they’re going out tonight {the check is in the mail}… I will, at some point during the period of time, call the parents… President Obama and other presidents, most of them didn’t make calls, a lot of them didn’t make calls. I like to call when it’s appropriate, when I think I’m able to do it.” He actually said “when I think I’m able to do it.” It happened 12 days ago… He has been golfing SEVEN TIMES since then. No mention of their names… No deepest sympathies… Just a narcissist pathological liar doing the only thing he is capable of doing: Making it about him, and telling lies.
And that leads to Gregg Popovich’s amazing quote. After seeing Trump’s unconscionable comments, Coach Popovich (who served in the Air Force) called Dave Zirin of The Nation, and said that he wants to get his statements on the record. Here they are:
“I’ve been amazed and disappointed by so much of what this President had said, and his approach to running this country, which seems to be one of just a never-ending divisiveness. But his comments today about those who have lost loved ones in times of war and his lies that previous presidents Obama and Bush never contacted their families, is so beyond the pale, I almost don’t have the words.
This man in the Oval Office is a SOULLESS COWARD who thinks that he can only become large by belittling others. This has of course been a common practice of his, but to do it in this manner – and to lie about how previous presidents responded to the deaths of soldiers – is as low as it gets. We have a PATHOLOGICAL LIAR in the White House: unfit intellectually, emotionally, and psychologically to hold this office and the whole world knows it, especially those around him every day. The people who work with this President should be ashamed because they know it better than anyone just how unfit he is, and yet they choose to do nothing about it. This is their shame most of all.”

“Our country is an embarrassment to the world.” ~ Coach Gregg Popovich
And now that you’ve read this first amazing quote, take a moment to imagine what the response would have been if the person who said it would have been a Person Of Color…
The second quote about Trump that you need to see today is a quote that comes from 1792, from the brilliant mind of Alexander Hamilton. And though it is over 200 years old, it could not be any more about the asshole currently in charge of our nation if it had mentioned stupid hair and tiny hands. It is an excerpt from his letter “Objections and Answers Respecting the Administration.” Here it is:
“The truth unquestionably is, that the only path to a subversion of the republican system of the Country is, by flattering the prejudices of the people, and exciting their jealousies and apprehensions, to throw affairs into confusion, and bring on civil commotion. Tired at length of anarchy, or want of government, they may take shelter in the arms of monarchy for repose and security.
Those then, who resist a confirmation of public order, are the true Artificers of monarchy—not that this is the intention of the generality of them. Yet it would not be difficult to lay the finger upon some of their party who may justly be suspected. When a man unprincipled in private life desperate in his fortune, bold in his temper, possessed of considerable talents, having the advantage of military habits—despotic in his ordinary demeanour—known to have scoffed in private at the principles of liberty—when such a man is seen to mount the hobby horse of popularity—to join in the cry of danger to liberty—to take every opportunity of embarrassing the General Government & bringing it under suspicion—to flatter and fall in with all the non sense of the zealots of the day—It may justly be suspected that his object is to throw things into confusion that he may ‘ride the storm and direct the whirlwind.'”
It almost seems too on the nose to be real, doesn’t it? Well, again… IT’S REAL. So there you have it… TWO QUOTES. One with Gregg Popovich taking it easy on the President by only calling him a “soulless coward” and a “pathological liar,” and another with the star of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s “Hamilton” going full Gregg Popovich on and prognosticating about a moron who would “ride the storm” of white supremacy into the White House 225 years after he made the quote. Feel free to file these quotes away in the place you go when you’re wondering whether or not it’s worth it to keep speaking up and acting out in response to the evil that this administration represents and embraces. It’s worth it.
